Mandela Day, the 18th of July 2017 is just around the corner and we all know what we must do and how important it is. To honour our national hero, who spent 27 good years in prison at Robben Island, it is on fair that each of us spend only 67 minutes of our day doing something charitable and giving back to the community.
18 July was Nelson Mandela's birthday and was declared Mandela Day by the UN General Assembly in 2009.The day is aimed at calling all citizens to take action and inspire change using the hashtags #ActionAgainstPortverty, #MandelaDay. On the day, people around the country will take at least 67 minutes to give back to the community. Many will visit orphanages, shelters, hospices, school and disadvantaged communities. Some will set up soup kitchens and some will donate food, clothing, blankets and more in the efforts of alleviating poverty. " It is in your hands to make of our world a better one for all."
No idea of what to do for your 67 minutes on Mandela Day in Plett?
