Plett: What to look forward to in summer

One can safely say that the best season in Plettenberg Bay is summer. This is the time when the town is constantly humming with people from all over the country and across the world. Events to attend and activities to partake in are abounding and you are spoilt for choice. It is what is known as the Plett feeling! We have gathered some the of the most popular events during this time that might be worth attending. 

Plett Chill Out 2017

The Plett Chill Out takes place at Kwanokuthula Stadium on the 30th of September at 3 pm till late. This is an opportunity to revel in music and dance as there will be a selection of artists, including the internationally recognised artists, Destruction Boys and several other local hitmakers. Tickets start from R40 per person and are pre-sold on Computicket. The best part is that you can bring your own cooler box with your own drinks, although a cash bar will also be available. 

Plett Vintage & Vine Festival

Taking place on the 21st of October, at Luka Wine Farm is the Plett Vintage & Vine Festival-a perfect outdoor summer celebration. It is a brand new event that will get crowds head over heels with gourmet food, live entertainment, a vintage motorcycle and bicycle showcases and activities for the kiddies. Talk about a perfect outing for a family. For the night owls, the event gets heated with adult only entertainment including a live swing band, a dance floor, whiskey and gin bar, a Luka wine and bubbly bar and much more. Tickets start from R100 pre-sold and are bought on Quicket. Admission is free for children under 12. 

Plett Wine & Bubbly Festival 2017

The is the ultimate event for wine lovers. Whether you are into a cab sav, merlot or a chenin blanc, all your wine fantasies will be fulfilled here. The festival is dedicated to MCC and other boutique wines made from local wine farms. This will be accompanied by the tasting of artisan cheeses, charcuterie, breads, savouries and oysters alongside local musicians. Perfect combination! The event will take place on the 25th and 26th of November and tickets start from R200 per person. 

Plett Rage Student Festival 2017

This event is what we can describe as fun unleashed. This year, taking place between the 1st and the 8th of December, the Plett Rage Student Festival is every dose of sun, beach and music, and its an event not to miss. Thousands of young adults from across the country will be rolling across the streets of Plettenberg Bay. Pre-registration for Plett Rage 2017 is now open, if you pre-register early, you will stand a chance to get a discount on the Freedom Pass, that gets you into the venue.

Plett 24 Hour Summer Reunion 

If you are looking for the ultimate social event in Plett during summer, you've got it right at the annual Plett 24 Hour Summer Reunion. At this event, you are met with music and arts expo in recognition and celebration of entrepreneurship in South Africa and the local culture. This township based market takes place on the 2nd of December at Kwano Stadium. 

Plett Summer Festival 2017

The Plett Summer Festival is a highly anticipated event in the city. Taking place between the 16th of December 2017 and the 15th of January, it is an event worth making a note of if you are going to be visiting Plettenberg Bay this summer.
